Seal Rock Cottage
Enjoy a relaxing escape at Seal Rock Cottage, a stylish boutique retreat in a breathtaking waterfront position on the Wild Atlantic Way, in County Kerry.
Wake up in this spacious two-bedroom stone cottage, and follow the stream down through the one-acre landscaped garden for a swim from the private beach and breakfast on the dock. Explore the local area - rich in history and natural wonders - or simply relax at Seal Rock Cottage, watching the light dance on the mountains across the water of Kenmare Bay and spotting seals and sea otters playing just yards from you.
In the evenings, sink into the comfort of Seal Rock Cottage’s chic, contemporary interior - designed as a Celtic take on Scandinavian cool, with every modern convenience but a wonderfully cosy sense of hygge - or, rather, as this is rural Ireland, “teolaí”.
The Best of The West of Ireland
You will find Seal Rock Cottage in a secluded spot on Rossmore Island; but it is connected to the Ring of Kerry by an ancient stone bridge and is just minutes from the vibrant town of Kenmare, renowned for its gourmet food, pubs and live music.
Seal Rock is ideally placed for you to explore this magical part of South-West Ireland. Along the world-famous Ring Of Kerry route, you will find Killarney National Park, the Gap of Dunloe, Kerry Woolen Mills, Daniel O’Connell’s home on Derrynane Strand, and much more. The best of Cork is on the doorstep too - the majesty of Bantry Bay; the gardens of Garnish Island; the literary craíc at McCarthy’s Bar; and the mysteries of Gougane Barra.
Looking to the Atlantic Ocean, you could sail to the Skelligs to discover your inner Jedi; charter a fishing boat to catch sea trout and bass; or take to the water in a sea kayak. Golfers have more than half a dozen nearby courses of great repute to choose from; while those who prefer their good walk “unspoiled” can hike the Kerry Way, joining the path a mile from the house.
With good connections to major airports and ferry terminals, Seal Rock Cottage is out of the way but easy to reach. And once there, your holiday can be as action-packed or slow-paced as you like.

"We stayed two months and it could not have been more perfect. The cottage, property and location were everything we expected and much more. Excellent as a base for daily excursions if that is your interest, but don't miss the beauty and peace of just spending quiet time at the cottage itself. This is a very special place you don't want to miss. And I highly recommend booking in the off season: we enjoyed so much more without crowds and buses and in many cases nearly had it to ourselves. This micro climate gives you all kinds of weather in one week, even one day and that in itself is sensational and typically Irish, so don't bother trying to time it just right, just book it and enjoy it. Superb hosts who have earned their reputation."
"We had a wonderful holiday. The cottage is exactly as described and has a very quiet location. The perfect place to relax."
"A really well appointed cottage in a fantastic location within easy reach of all local facilities. Very high standard of decoration and all mod cons."
"Seal Rock is even more lovely in real life than the photos. The cottage is luxuriously furnished and infused with light even on an overcast Irish day. The panoramic views of Kenmare Bay never become passé and the absolute quiet is the antidote for whatever may be ailing you."
"Our stay at Seal Rock Cottage was (too) short, but perfect. We loved the cottage and the serene location. The views leading to the cottage - and at the cottage - were incredible. The owners were very responsive to our inquiries prior to our arrival, and check-in was seamless. The information manual for guests was especially helpful and complete - with both useful household information, as well as suggestions for activities, eateries, and lovely drives along the Ring of Kerry. We highly recommend Seal Rock Cottage!"
"A Beautiful home in a beautiful location. It is remote and not the easiest location to find but the owners directions were very helpful and this is my second visit to this home so I would obviously come back again. If you want to be in a city center this is not the place for you but if you don't mind a short drive you will be in Kenmare in 20 minutes where there are some really wonderful restaurants for foodies and the people are lovely! The Bay views from this home are nothing short of amazing and a brisk walk up the lane to the main road provides your morning exercise and even more stunning views. The home is absolutely beautiful and the beds are luxurious!"
"If you are thinking of self-catering around the Ring of Kerry, this is definitely the cottage to stay in. Hidden well away from the main tourist traffic, it is still within easy distance of some of the main attractions. The photos are an entirely fair reflection of this lovely property - the garden is to die for and we even had a visit from the seal! If the weather is good, views from the property are spectacular, and if not, it is an extremely comfortable place to be holed up for the duration."
"Loved our trip to Kerry. The view from the cottage is fabulous. We enjoyed one warm evening eating out by the water in perfect peaceful surroundings."
"The unique location of the charming cottage is excellent and offers panoramic views of the water and mountains. It is a short drive to local towns with lots to see and do within a few minutes, and even more around Kerry and the Wild Atlantic Way. The log fire and interiors made for an ideal winter getaway. The kitchen was well equipped and the bedrooms were quiet and very comfortable. A stunning location and excellent property. Would definitely recommend to others and we'll definitely return to see a summer vista!"
